Desalination solution for a resort in Tanzania.
Fanjove Island, located off the southern coast of Tanzania in the Indian Ocean, is part of the Songo Songo Archipelago. It is known for its pristine beaches, rich marine biodiversity, and growing eco-tourism initiatives. The island’s small size and remote location pose challenges for its water supply; it primarily relies on collecting rainwater, importing freshwater, and establishing sustainable water management practices. Efforts are ongoing to enhance water security through renewable solutions like solar-powered desalination and rainwater harvesting. We are proud to have contributed with our chemical-free and extremely efficient desalination solution.

Fresh water supply for Fanjove Island.
“We’re excited to share the successful installation of a solar-powered desalination system on the remote Fanjove Island, Tanzania. This system supports sustainable tourism and protects the island’s fragile ecosystem while reducing reliance on imported water or diesel power. We’re proud to support projects like this that make clean water more accessible and environmentally sound. Huge respect to the team at Elemental Water Makers for designing such a smart, scalable solution.”
