How Do They Do It?

It’s a simple question that originates out of curiosity: How do they do it?

It’s also the name of a popular show on Discovery Channel. The programme is about engineering & scientific miracles and the people that make them happen. As engineers, it’s always been our dream to be featured on an episode of How Do They Do It. Today, we are proud to share that we made it to the show!

The episode that features Elemental Water Makers’ solar desalination technology will be available on Discovery+ from Tuesday 11 October onwards. It will also air on TV on Tuesday 18 October at 20:30 on Discovery Channel in The Netherlands and will make its global journey in due time.

The summer again results in global water stress.

The summer of 2022 has seen sustained drought across the globe, from Europe to China to the US and Africa, and has brought with it serious ripple effects, from energy shortages to severe food insecurity.

Even a country famous for its waterworks is not excluded from increasing water scarcity due to climate change. The Dutch news and Nieuwsuur visited Elemental Water Makers past summer to show that turning seawater into clean water using solar energy is a viable alternative.
