Villa using efficient desalination in Curaçao.

Desalination is nothing new to private properties in Curaçao. More than 45% of the island’s drinking water is supplied by desalination plants. Unfortunately, most of the time, traditional desalination is being utilized, leading to unnecessarily high energy and water bills.

Fortunately, there are cost-effective and sustainable solutions: our Efficient Water Maker series. By utilizing energy recovery technology, energy savings of up to 70% can be achieved on any scale between 5-100 m³ per day. Another villa on Curaçao is now using our technology to source its fresh water in a cost-effective way.

Fossil-free Water: This month Cliff Villa has partnered with the award-winning Elemental Water Makers in the Netherlands to install a reverse osmosis system to feed a 17,843 gallon – 67.55 m3 cistern with fresh water 3x more efficiently than traditional ROs. The unit automatically fresh flushes daily and can be monitored remotely. Desalination is the obvious solution for a desert island. The Curacao property is now able to generate high-quality freshwater using an unlimited resource
