Providing safe, reliable and affordable fresh water.
On the African island of Madagascar, 11 million people still do not have access to clean water resources. About 85 % of the population lives in remote communities without access to clean water.
Ambola is one of these communities where thousands of people lack access to safe water. There’s a school in the community that lacks access to safe water. Ensuring access to safe water is essential for improving health, sanitation, and educational outcomes in these underserved communities.
Together with our local partners, we were able to realise a solar desalination project in Ankilibory that provides the vital resource of clean water for the school and community. Since the completion of the water project, Ankilibory now makes 30,000 liters of clean water every day using only seawater and sunshine.

Thank you for making this possible. It’s been a pleasure working together. Even after two cyclones hit Madagascar during the preparations, the EWM team was flexible and able to install these projects shortly after.
