Stirring up the water for a decade.

We’ve been making water for 10 years now. Coincidentally, it’s that time of the year when global headlines are full of water, actually on the lack thereof:

– US: Unprecedented water restrictions hit Southern California today
– Chile: ‘Consequences will be dire’: Chile’s water crisis reaching breaking point
– Somalia: ‘Dire and grim’ drought, impacting more than 7 million
– France: Drought alerts now expected for almost all departments in France
– Netherlands: Spring drought similar to record year 1976
– Pakistan: Is Pakistan paying attention to existential environmental crises?

Embarking on our mission to solve freshwater scarcity in 2012, it seems like we still have work to do. Droughts are on the rise.

Fortunately, clean desalination technology is also on the rise and we can extend our water resources in an affordable and sustainable way. Today we celebrate our global progress with you, thanking all our colleagues, partners, users and friends for their continued support over the past 10 years.

Have your clean desalination project built

Creating motion from an ocean, drop by drop.

A decade ago, solar desalination was relatively new and droughts were less common. Especially during the past years, we’ve seen a global acceptance of decentralized clean water production and are grateful to be a driver in this field.

In the past months, we have commissioned projects in the Caribbean, Madagascar & Tanzania. We built several projects that are on their way to Bonaire, Yemen, Kenya, Belize and The Philippines. Meanwhile, we are designing and building several more desalination systems.

Through all these projects for resorts, private properties, communities in close collaboration with NGOs and for industries, we have been able to make quite the impact in the past 10 years.

Standing at the water’s edge.

Looking ahead, we have the goal to help 10 million people attain access to clean water (SDG6) with our community-driven projects in close collaboration with NGOs, municipalities and local initiatives.

At the same time, we will continue to reduce the footprint and water bills of resorts, private properties and industries, making water from only the sea and sunshine.

Our technology continues to evolve, enabling all our users to secure access to affordable water at any coastal location, tapping into the benefits of the latest development in desalination and renewable energy.

Sustainable desalination in 90 sec by Mashable.

Global platform Mashable created a cool video on Sustainable Desalination.

Global Water Summit.

At the Global Water Summit in Madrid, Isle Utilities has appointed Elemental Water Makers as the bearer of one of the global “30 Technologies for Net Zero” in the water sector.

Keep the connection.

To celebrate our 10-year anniversary, we spent some time on the water to enjoy the elements using the latest e-foil technology. It refreshed our perspective and lasting memories were made.

NWP Tour.

Members of The Netherlands Water Partnership joined us at our office to learn more about solar desalination technology. We concluded the tour with a water tasting at our training facility.
