Where water flows, equality grows.

Today is World Water Day 2026, and this year’s theme is one that hits close to home for us: “Water and Gender: Where water flows, equality grows.”

The statistics are a call to action: globally, women and girls spend over 250 million hours every day collecting water. This “time poverty” is a direct barrier to education, safety, and economic independence. At Elemental Water Makers, we know that when we provide a community with a reliable source of clean water, we aren’t just installing technology; we are removing barriers that allow women and girls to develop their full potential. We’ve helped over 200,000 people improve access to clean water and are keen to do more.

Engineering change through partnerships.

While we provide technical solutions for a sustainable future for businesses, industries & individuals, our heart beats strongest for the work we do for communities. We don’t do this work alone. To solve the global water crisis, collaboration is key. We are proud to work alongside dedicated NGOs and the Elemental Water Foundation to bring solar-powered desalination to the front lines of water scarcity. We are highlighting three projects where technology and partnership are creating a more equitable future:

Madagascar: Providing a Foundation for Growth.

In remote coastal Madagascar, we’ve partnered with the Elemental Water Foundation to replace saltwater wells with pure, solar-desalinated water. By bringing the source to the heart of the village, we’ve returned thousands of hours to the community’s women. We’ve improved access to clean water to over 15,000 people through several projects.

Somalia: Resilience in the Face of Drought.

In Somalia, our partnership with Save the Children has established sustainable water for 18,000 people Our solar-powered system provide a steady supply of fresh water even during the harshest droughts, allowing local women to lead community development.

Yemen: Clean Water Amidst Conflict.

Working in one of the world’s most volatile regions, we collaborated with CARE International to provide a lifeline. Our system offers a fossil-fuel-free solution that bypasses broken infrastructure, ensuring families have safe water without the danger of travel.
