Summer is coming: sunshine & water restrictions?

For many of us residing in the Northern Hemisphere, we finally see summer coming. This usually means sunshine and blue skies. What it unfortunately also means is that the drought season is upon us.

Madagascar is has been facing the worst drought in 40 years, Brazil is on drought alert facing the worst drought in 91 years, several parts of the US (CaliforniaNew MexicoArizona, etc.), but also Taiwan is in trouble. It’s a truly global issue and one that raises concern due to its growing nature. Will it be another summer for in the books?

Luckily for any coastal location, the sunshine and seawater can also provide freshwater using Elemental technology. Read about our latest projects realized and development made in this brief update.

If you’re interested in ensuring access to sufficient fresh water this year, make sure to contact us on short notice, as our project schedule is quickly filling up.

Safe water for a remote community in Senegal.

Ourong is a small community in Senegal. Its inhabitants are living alongside the saline Casamance river on an island and used to collect salty and unsafe water from a well that was threatened of running dry. The Foundation Hum’AM and its partners and donors, supported by Elemental Water Makers, were able to finance and install a solar-powered desalination unit capable of producing 20.000 liters per day.

”Today, more than 600 villagers benefit from this project. EWM’s engineers who made their way on-site to the community during COVID-19 using a humanitarian exemption were a truly competent and supportive team. It was a real pleasure to work with them.”
Hum’AM Foundation, April 2021.

Private property & Industry make water in the Caribbean.

Both a private property in Curaçao, as well as an industry located in Aruba, have been able to start using the sea as their source of freshwater. By working together with our local partners, these projects were successfully commissioned recently and local support is ensured.

Several groundbreaking projects underway globally.

Despite additional challenges imposed due to COVID-19 restrictions, logistics, and its effect on global supply chains, we are excited to announce a whole streak of projects under construction.

These vary between commercial entities who seek to reduce their operational expenses and water bills, as well as humanitarian work together with NGOs to serve communities that are in dire need of clean drinking water.
